Hello, and welcome! My name is Ingrid Chan. I am currently a freshman at UCI, majoring in International Studies. This is my HumCore blog, and this year our courses will be focusing on war. As war is a highly sensitive topic, and I am but a sheltered student learning about the world, if there is anything I said that is wrong or offensive to you, please feel free to leave a comment below or send me a message.

When I first started working on my blog, I immediately thought of making some sort of year 2000 MySpace 8-bit blog. Since nowadays people don't use blogs so much anymore, and have turned to more instant, simpler social media websites like Twitter or Facebook, blogs are unique in that they are highly customized through html coding and thus very personal. When the internet first began, blogs were the height of internet craze. Therefore I thought it would be fun to make my blog look like a fun, "vintage" tribute to the earlier days of the internet.

As you may have noticed, this blog's theme comes from a game called Undertale. It is an RPG game by Toby Radiation Fox. In the game, the player controls a human child, who has fallen into the underground monster world. Throughout the game, the player can decide to either befriend or kill the monsters. The outcome of the game changes depending on the actions the player makes. It has been highly praised for its writing and characters. The reason why I chose to make a blog inspired by Undertale, besides personally enjoying the game very much, is because it also has has themes of war between the humans and the monsters. If you'd like, please check out the game on Steam, or get the soundtrack on Toby Fox's Bandcamp.

All images on this blog belong to their rightful owners (and I should have credited them on the respective pages, if not please let me know), I do not own anything unless explicitly said so.

          Hope you enjoy your stay!
